What is calibration?
Calibration is the comparison of a measurement instrument (machine) or device with a calibration standard. This is how we determine the measurement deviation (bias). We do this by comparing with a calibration reference or calibration standard calculated model. We compare a number of measurement values of your instruments with a calibration standard that can be traced back to (inter)national standard.
The basis for the measurement quantities is laid down in the SI system. The traceability of calibration is fixed in agreements between BIPM, ILAC and Euramet. Each body has its own role in establishing and ensuring a calibration traceability per country, and the mutual recognition of the various agreements made.
